The name EVIM means “my home” in Turkish. It reflects the idea that the spaces we inhabit should feel uniquely ours: comfortable enough for everyday living, beautiful enough to inspire us, and filled with pieces chosen with purpose.
EVIM was founded by Alexis Tinaz and Can Tinaz, bringing together professional interior-design expertise, a shared appreciation for beautiful spaces, and a personal connection to the meaning behind the brand.
The Founders
Alexis Tinaz
Alexis Tinaz is a New York City-based Senior Interior Designer with more than a decade of professional experience.
Her background includes senior-level design work in New York City, including experience with Archetype. Throughout her career, Alexis has developed a discerning eye for proportion, spatial balance, material, texture, function, and the details that allow an interior to feel complete.
She approaches a room as more than a collection of individual objects. Every element contributes to the larger composition—from the furniture that anchors the space to the finishes, shapes, and decorative details that give it warmth and character.
That professional design perspective is central to EVIM. Each piece is considered not only for how it looks on its own, but also for how it can contribute to a thoughtful, cohesive, and livable interior.
Can Tinaz
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Can Tinaz brings a personal connection to EVIM’s name and identity through his Turkish heritage.
In Turkish, “evim” means “my home.” For Can, the name represents more than a place—it expresses the comfort, belonging, warmth, and individuality that make a space feel genuinely personal.
As a co-founder, Can shares the vision of building a brand that helps people create homes that feel considered, comfortable, and reflective of who they are. His connection to the meaning behind EVIM gives the brand an identity rooted in both personal heritage and the universal feeling of being at home.
Together, Alexis and Can created EVIM to offer thoughtfully selected furniture and home décor for people who want their spaces to feel elevated, warm, and distinctly their own.
